Leatherman packs the full-size Skeletool with the tools you're likely to use most often. Introducing the Brand New Skeletool from Leatherman Now you're ready to lighten your load and boost your survival skills -- with Leatherman's Skeletool. At a mere 5 ounces the new, full-sized multitool keeps weight and volume to a minimum without sacrificing quality and true functionality, and that's what the Skeletool is all about. Many multitools have multiple options, but they're often heavier -- and they're loaded with more features than most people actually need on a regular basis. Conversely, pocket knives are light and streamlined, but they render themselves useless when the task calls for a more versatile tool. Enter the new Skeletool platform, offering minimal weight, compact size and endless capabilities. And with the Skeletool's integrated, removable pocket clip, you can easily clip this tool onto a belt, a pack, or a vest -- with no sheath or tote required. Key User Features The Skeletool CX has a large knife blade that can be accessed while the tool is closed; to open it, just place your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade and rotate it out until it's fully extended -- which will engage the safety lock. This locking mechanism is noted with a padlock symbol on the tool. To unlock the blade, press the locking mechanism towards the handle until the blade slides past the lock. Equipped with a universal bit driver, the Skeletool offers real utility options like no other multitool. To change the tool bits, simply unfold the tool and remove the bit from the bit driver -- and pop it out. And replacing bits is just as easy. Just press a new one into position and you're good to go. There's even a spare bit located in the handle side opposite the knife blade. This tool includes the following bits: Phillips #1 and #2, screwdriver 3/16-inch and 1/4-inch. In the plier jaws you'll find a hard-wire cutter and a regular wire cutter. The regular wire cutter is great for softer grades of wire, but the hard-wire cutter is excellent for heavier jobs -- like cutting and bending fishhooks. Multitool Capabilities: The Skeletool keeps it simple -- and light, and compact, and easy to transport. Why waste time with pointless, heavy add-ons when all the basics are right at your fingertips? With its open hardware, skeletal design and hardy appearance, the Skeletool boasts a premium stainless steel blade, pliers, a universal bit driver, and a carabiner/bottle opener ... and that's it. Key Tech Specs: Length: 4 inches/10 cm closed Weight: 5 ounces/142 grams Materials: Stainless steel, 420HC Included Bits: Phillips #1 and #2, Screwdriver 3/16-inch and 1/4-inch Leatherman makes a full range of complementary accessories and add-ons for this and other Leatherman products. Optional Accessories (not included) Spice up your Skeletool with genuine Leatherman accessories. Options include a bit kit that offers 21 double-ended bits for real versatility. From new belt sheaths to t-shirts and caps, genuine Leatherman accessories are durable, fun and show that you're a part of Leatherman World. With such a wide variety available, it's easy to find just the add-on that's right for you. Warranty All Leatherman products are covered by a 25-year limited warranty. If within 25 years from the purchase date of your genuine Leatherman tool you find any defect in material or workmanship, you can count on the manufacturer to make it right with fast warranty service. To obtain warranty service, return your tool to Leatherman Tool Group. Depending on the tool defect, they will decide whether to repair your tool or replace it with a product of equal or greater value. No variations, upgrades or refunds are offered. The Leatherman Tool Group and its History of Quality In 1975, Leatherman Tool Group founder Tim Leatherman was inspired by leaky pipes and a cranky car on a budget trip to Europe -- and thus the idea for his first pocket survival tool was conceived. Since then, Leatherman has become an internationally recognized company with hundreds of employees and a wide variety of durable, versatile, stylish products. Created with bold designs and truly rugged construction, Leatherman products are a perfect addition for tool kits, emergency sets, and glove compartments everywhere. |

Are you sick and tired of looking at the same old fireplace in your living room? Do you want to salvage it? If you do, you better think first. That fireplace alone cost you a lot of money, excluding the payment for the installation and the heating bills you paid for. Now, would that not be a total waste of money? One thing that you might do is to have a fireplace insert installed.
The average fireplace already serves as a prepared hole that will make the installation simpler and easier. And the good news is that this fireplace insert can generate more heat as opposed to the normal open fireplace, making it the perfect heat source for your home. The fees for using the fireplace will rely on how often you use it. But if you are a person who usually pays for heating during the winter season, then it is better to go for an insert since it is a cheaper alternative.
You now know what the fireplace insert is for. The second thing you should learn is how to install one. Simplicity is beauty and this certainly applies here. You need not pay for installation services of other people because you can do it all by yourself. What you need for doing so are screws, screwdriver, flue liner, aluminum snips, a piece of heavy cardboard, chalk and a chimney caulk.
The first step that you should take when you install a fireplace insert is to set the piece of cardboard on the hearth, which can be found just in front of the fireplace. Position the insert on the cardboard and very carefully, slide it onto the rear wall of the fireplace. You should make sure that you get to center your insert in the fireplaces opening. Then, get rid of the damper. Slide your flue liner from the top of the chimney and attach it in the flue collars adapter (this may be found at the top part of your insert). Secure the flue liner and collar in place with the use of screws. Then, remove any additional liner left at the top of the chimney while using the snips. When you are finished with it, you should then mark some lines, using the chalk, in the top and sides of the insert in alignment with the front part and the sides of the opening of the fireplace.
Here comes the hard part. You should carefully pull the fireplace insert out, enough for you to make use of the ready-made holes in the top and the sides. Vigilantly put together the top extender panel to the insert using the screws that were provided. Position the panel in such a way that the chalk lines will be concealed. Now that you concealed them, tighten the screws. Next, do the same procedure using the side panels. Once you are done, put some chimney caulk into the joints and seams between the insert and extender panels and the top and side panels respectively. Finally, set up the insulation strips in the panel's back part. Then, slide back the insert onto its original place.
By following these steps, you can install a fireplace insert all on your own. Although it looks a bit complicated, it is in truth very simple and easy. Having a fireplace insert installed can really be beneficial to your home.

I do not like this exercise little in the powerhouse. I have some cheap shares of Wal-Mart, and I've always paid. The reason why I decided to buy the Makita is simple. I recently installed a new metal roof, and the contractor is using this little exercise. In each screw is mounted on the roof with two fully charged battery. I did not count the screws, but it is a lot. The good thing for rapidly charge lithium ion battery, the kit comes with two. I could have bought another Black & Decker, or something, I'm glad I chose this.

Another happy owner
I've the had Makita DF330DW driver/drill for about 6 weeks and have used it for several jobs requiring drilling and driving self-tapping screws into metal. This tool is comfortable in hand and light enough to use for hours. Someone mentioned it was difficult to control the slow speeds but I don't agree with that. I've found it easy to run the driver or drill as slowly as desired or constantly at whatever speed is needed. The light is not too useful for driving screws, doesn't really illuminate at that short distance. It works better for drilling or using an extended type of driver. It is a handy light just to see your work area or search for something. The batteries last a long time and recharge quickly. I'd recommend this tool and would buy again if needed.

10.8 ultra compact 3/8 drill
I had already purchased the combo set of 10.8 impact driver, drill set, but the drill in the set does not have a chuck. And I loved them so much when I saw this one with a chuck, I just had to have it. Just like the others, it is surprisingly powerful and fits into you hand extremely well. The down side to this one compared to the one without the chuck, is that it does not stand up on its own, because of the extra weight of the chuck, but the chuck is nice for things which do not have a hex drive. This is worth having.

Wow...love this little drill!
Just hung 22 blinds in my new home using this great drill...lots of power, easy to use and the battery just kept going and going! I recommend this product highly, and my only regret is that I never bought one sooner.

Can't believe I waited so long to go cordless
First time home owner after renting for 15 years. Slowly buildig a tool inventory to tackle minor handyman projects inside and out. So far have mostly used outside. Built the wife a 4'x4'x8' compost bin, a couple trellises, some fence repair, and reconfigured my downspouts to install three rain barrells. The two speeds work great for drilling pilot holes on hi and then shifting to low to drive the screws. Haven't been able to drain both batteries before the first one has recharged. It is light as can be and very easy to handle. It did it, but didn't care for the 9/16" spade bit through 2"x2" wet pressure treated. I decided on the 11v compact because I already have a corded one if I need more power and I think it works better for over 95% of the stuff a homeowner ends up using one for. I like the one with the normal chuck too. I just got one of the speed lock bit holder kits and can quick change between driving and drilling and still have the option of using my regular drill index as well.
Clutch is a little non-consistent but that may just be me and the pressure I am driving with and the light doesn't seem to help me at all. don't really notice that it is on. Well worth the money.

Excellent little drill
I bought this drill for general use in household projects, replacing a larger Bosch drill that still worked perfectly but for which batteries were no longer available. This Makita is fun to use -- very light and compact, and the built-in work light is nice. Battery life is good, and the batteries recharge very quickly. I find that I do miss the power of the larger drill for some tasks, though. The carrying case does not have a compartment for drill bits, so I had to buy a little gizmo at Sears to hold my screwdriver bits. Overall I really like the drill.

Best hand held drills on the market!!!!!
Makita has done it again. These 10.8 volt drills and drivers ,I own all of the 10.8 and they are the best for any job. I also own most of the 18 volt. But I cant seem to put the little guys down. They fit perfect in your hands and no fatigue for all day use.You wont be sorry they hold a long charge to.

Great compact cordless drill
Bought two of these for my grown children's tool kits. Both are thrilled at the light weight, power, and quick charging capacity. Worked with one of the units and it seems even better than the Makita cordless that I've owned for several years. A professional custom furniture maker told me years ago that spending the extra bucks for a Makita was money well spent. I think that's true.

Compact, lightweight
For a 2-pound flyweight drill, it's got very satisfactory power. The batteries drive plenty of screws per charge, and recharge faster than I can use them up. If you need arm-breaking power for big holesaws and stuff, this may not be your ideal pick, but if you need something compact that won't wear your arm out when working overhead or at arm's length, it's pretty good. The automatic LED "headlight" comes on when the trigger is pulled, and stays on briefly afterwards, which I found useful when trying to line stuff up under a stairway.
One nitpick: the battery-disengagement tabs are a little stiff, so it might be a nuisance if you have arthritic hands.

Best small drill ever
I love this Makita drill. Very easy to handle, very light, very powerfull and quick. Batteries are great and don't require a 4 hour charge before every use. Built in light is very helpful.

a great little drill
As a furniture builder I really don't have the need for the big and powerful drills except for a few occasions. This little drill is just the thing for the medium to light duty drilling that I need to do.
there are just a few things that I want to mention that may help others. First the size is just right. It is light weight and short. Easy to get into small places. The lithium batteries hold a charge for a long time and give the drill plenty of power. I have not had the problem with the time it takes to recharge the batteries. Once charged, they last long time. Second the direction switch is out of the way yet close enough that you don't have to search for it. I had a milwaukee 12v screwdriver and the swithc was always in the way. Either it was mid setting which locked the trigger or it was set at the wrong direction. It was very frustrating. Third the grip gives you good control and does not get tiresome with extended use. And last, the LED light is a great help when working inside a cabinet where there is little light to see.
I have the screwdriver also and like that just as well. Don't let the 10.8 vs 12 volt label fool you. With either of these tools you get you will get just as much run time as the 12volts.
Where To BuyMakita DF330DW 10.8-Volt Ultra Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 3/8" Driver-Drill Kit
great little drill! crap case..
solid construction, good strong locking chuck, plenty of torque. only shortcomings is when using a short tip the light is blocked by the chuck so it is of little use in that situation. it also could have used a battery light to let you know how much juice is left like the similar milwaukee drills. but overall great battery life great drill. the case is cheap but thats typical of makita.

Problem installing hei distributor on chevy 350?
im trying to install my distributor with no luck when i peaked into the hole i noticed the oil pump driver was laying a bit to the side and not going into the distributor drive gear i tried using some grease to hold it straight but no luck when i push it with my screwdriver i can set it straight but as soon as i take it away it falls back on its side
Paul is correct. However, are you sure the shaft seated in the oil pump? I have used a 1/4 inch drive deep socket to turn the shaft and seat into oil pump.
As I remember, the top end of the shaft is pointed more than oil pump end.
