DeWalt followed in his father's footsteps by holding mill and constructions jobs from the time he left school. No matter what the job, the question of high labor costs always concerned him. To help cut these costs, occasionally he rigged up a machine to meet some special need. Eventually, Mr. DeWalt was offered a position as head of a woodworking mill that manufactured almost everything from boxes to full-fledged houses. He designed a yoke and attached it directly to a motor and saw, then mounted it on a standard arm. The saw could be raised, lowered, slid back and forth, moved to any angle, or tilted to any bevel. It instantly lowered costs and increased productivity, and was the first DEWALT tool. Today the DEWALT power tools line consists of over 200 electric power tools and over 800 accessories including: drills and hammer drills, screwdrivers, circular, chop, miter, table, reciprocating, and jig saws, planers, impact wrenches, die, angle, and bench grinders, shears, nibblers, sanders, laminate trimmers, routers, and plate joiners. Here are some more information for Hex Nut Driver:

Becoming a skateboarder will bring you into a new world. Eventually slang terms and trick names will become second nature to you. But before you run, you have to crawl, and in skateboarding that means learning how to properly assemble a skateboard.
Tools to gather:
o Phillips screw driver
o Drill(optional for mounting trucks)
o 3/8" combination wrench or nut driver
o 9/16" combination wrench or nut driver
o Razor blade
Parts to gather:
o Skateboard deck
o Grip tape
o Pair of trucks
o Hardware(set of 8 nuts & bolts)
o 4 Wheels
o 8 bearings
1. The first thing we are going to do is apply the grip tape to the deck itself. Lay the deck on a flat surface. Peel off the back of the grip tape and apply the sticky side to the top of the board. Now smooth it down with your hand so that it sticks flat to the board. Make sure to poke any air bubbles with your razor blade and flatten it down with your hand.
2. Take your screw driver using the shaft right above the handle, scrape the edge of the deck completely around. You will now have the edge shaped out nicely throughout the deck. Take your razor blade and carefully cut off the excess grip tape around the board. Take your left over grip tape and sand down the edges to make it smooth and clean.
3. We will now be mounting the trucks to our deck. Take your screwdriver and poke through the grip tape in all 8 holes on the deck. Insert your bolts from the grip tape side. On the underside line up the holes on your trucks with the bolts. Once you have the trucks set, apply the nuts to the bolts and fasten by hand. Now that both trucks are loosely mounted you need to tighten them. Using your 9/16" wrench hold the nuts still and tighten the bolts using your screwdriver. (A drill will work much faster for this process but be careful not to strip out your bolts)
4. Wheels won't do much without bearings, so here is how to insert bearings into your wheels. There is a special tool for this you might see at your local skate shop but there is a little trick that works better. Remove the nuts on each truck and Flip your board on its side. Take one bearing and place it on one truck. Now put the wheel on the truck and push hard against it. The bearing will pop right into place. Remove the wheel, put another bearing on the truck, flip the wheel around and repeat the process. Presto! One wheel complete, just repeat this for all 4 wheels.
5. For the next step we are going to mount the wheels. Just slip 2 wheels on each truck and using your 3/8" wrench tighten the nuts. Be sure not to over tighten, you want it loose enough so that the wheel can spin freely.
Now you have your own complete skateboard that you put together all on your own. Give yourself a pat on the back and go skate it up! Be proud of yourself because now you know how to properly assemble a skateboard.
Life is what you make it, stay positive and moving forward.
Peace & Love,
Matt

Customer Review:
I've used this impact screwdriver for a year and a half daily. So it's tough enough. It drives big screws like butter. Amazing! It drives Phillips as nicely as Robertson without stripping, also amazing. It is very short, so it easily fits between joists. The NiMh batteries are better than NiCd: they carry more power for their weight, are less finicky about charging technique, stay charged longer when unused, and charge rapidly.
cons: Bits always get stuck in the hex chuck, requiring Visegrips to get them out. But I generally use a guide sleeve. Phillips bits sometimes shatter. Robertson bits sometimes jump out of the screwhead since virtually no force is needed to drive the screw. It is single-speed, so you have to be careful as the head sinks into the wood or sheetrock. Also, it's very very loud, requiring hearing protection.
My other impact screwdriver is a Makita. That version has external ports for the motor brushes, and a built-in worklight. But it's hex chuck jams just the same.

Excellent Screw Driver
I guess everyone has already echoed my thoughts about this great product. Yes, it does drive large screws into hard wood, without stripping the heads or breaking the screws. It requires a lot less effort, so you don't get as tired at the end of the day. And yes it will be your most favorite tool of all.
There are however some shortcomings that should be mentioned. First, it works best with a full battery. By the time the battery is half discharged, it will no longer drive large screws. The work around to this problem is to invest in a couple of Panasonic 12V 3.5Ah NiMH Batteries. These babies provide plenty of long lasting power. The other is the bit holder. The bits get stuck inside and are difficult to remove. The work around is to get a MagZilla Mag Bit Holder from www.mcfeelys.com for $10 and leave it in permanently. This bit holder will accept any kind of 1/4 bit you insert into it (short or long etc.) and hold it securely, yet releases it easily. With a setup like this, you have a tool that is truly rated at five stars.
Powerful little monster
Big fan of panasonic cordless tools.. this is my 3rd. I was having a problem countersinking big screws into hardwood or cement board so based on some advice picked up this tool.. It took over where my very powerful 15.6 left off.. taking 3" screws that were stripped and wouldn't go in and countersinking them no problemo... the impact nature makes it less likely to break screws like the 15.6 does occasionally... I actually put a 3" screw about 1" countersunk into a FIR stud just testing out the capabilities. Quite literally it will keep driving most screws 'til you let go of the trigger, so better use a dimple bit on softer material.
caveat: i had a few minutes of buyers remorse when i first used it as it is QUITE loud.. make no mistake when this is working your house is 'under construction'.. however you do get quite used to it, it's definiately worse as a bystander.
I would rate it 4 1/2 stars for the one major problem: non standard chuck... argh on panasonic.. why why why? the solution to fix it is to put a slug of 1/4 hex cut off an old bit shank into the chuck or perhaps a couple #4 hex nuts (if that's what is 1/4"). .makes for easier removal if necessary... anyhow they did it so the double-headed bit that comes with fits nicer but makes NORMAL quick bits jam... and i have yet to find any bits whatsover including from panasonic that match the groove for the double headed quick bit that comes with.
The charger that comes with is awesome because it works up to 18V batts... i can bring one charger and all my tools someplace and can charge my drill, my impact or my saw no need for 3 chargers.
Until the torque load gets high enough it operates just like a drill, so small bits and small screws work great just like your drill and pretty much silent.
I'm thrilled with the driver it's possibly my favorite tool.. too bad it needs a hack to fix it, but with the fix it's flawless.

How do I get the buttstock off?
I am trying to get the buttstock off of a Mossberg 500. The nut holding it on is on so tight. It is slotted, and I am using a flat head screw driver, but my goodness it's on there. Also, the nut is not a hex from the looks of it, and I don't have a long enough extension to find out. Did anyone else have this problem, and how did you get the darn thing off? Thanks
This is actually a plastic buttstock, and I'm just trying to see if I'll like the pistol grip better.
When I have trouble with nuts I use heat or a penetrating liquid. Depending on what condition your wood is in, if it is messed up, just heat it with a torch for awhile, it will mess up the wood, but if your replacing it , so what? .. if not, try some liquid wrench and soak it for a while. This could loosen it up.
