Here are some more information for Spring Compressor Suspension:

Complete Strut Assemblies are growing in popularity for both manufacturers and consumers. One might ask - Why replace the whole assembly when only the strut has failed? Surprisingly there are several reasons. The Complete Strut Assembly typically costs twice as much if not more but in all likelihood will save you money right away as well as further down the road (no pun intended).
Whether replacing these components yourself or paying a mechanic to do the work, the advantages of using the Complete Strut assembly are immediate - no special tools are required. This makes the job for the typical Do it Yourselfer quite easy as there is no spring compressor required. At a garage you "should" typically see lower labour times; you might find that the extra money spent on the Complete Strut Assembly is equal to the money saved from the reduced labor costs to install it.
Other advantages of installing the Complete Strut Assembly on your vehicle are numerous. Getting a new spring is going to refresh your suspension and last longer than your old spring. This is because your old spring has sat under the weight of the vehicle for numerous years causing the spring to sag, corrode, and weaken over time. This causes your vehicle to sit slightly lower which changes the suspension geometry. Driving on a failed strut puts the spring to work even more as it is taking on all the forces of the road without the help of the strut to back it up. Other components of the Complete Strut Assembly include the upper strut plate, bump stop and rubber boot. These are all components that wear out typically because of corrosion and dirt contamination. Replacing these components when tackling this kind of job is always a good idea; the failure of a small component like this shortly after the fact is a kick in the pants for obvious reasons.
The choice is clear when a Complete Strut Assembly is available for your vehicle. The Complete Strut Assembly is a money and time saving component. It is typically the most significant suspension part, and a great way to get your vehicle to ride like new.

Learn How A Car's Suspension System Works!
The quest for the smoothest ride is likened to King Arthur's quest for the Holy Grail: endlessly pursued yet somehow elusive. But, by upgrading your vehicle with an air suspension system, you can quickly realize nirvana through driving bliss.
A car's suspension system is like a public school teacher: overworked and under-appreciated systems. It has to support the weight of the car, including passengers and cargo, while allowing the tires and wheels to move up and down to minimize impacts from cracks, bumps and the other numerous imperfections in the road. Your suspension also prevents excessive body squat and dive during acceleration and braking. There are a number of suspension systems on the market, but without question, air suspension remains the most popular.
Air shocks are powered by an engine-driven or electric air compressor and continue to be wildly popular among those in the know. The compressor pressurizes air and uses it to replace conventional steel springs. An air bag suspension provides a smoother ride and is fully adjustable, allowing drivers to tweak each wheel's air pressure individually and even tilt the vehicle side to side or front to back to level it out. The air cushion softens the contact between the axle and the frame to reduce bottoming out, and they provide between 500 - 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity depending on your vehicle and the type of air suspension you get.
Most air compressor kits are a complete solution for upgrading your suspension, including the air compressor, manifold, wiring harness, control box and some that even feature a 5-gallon air tank that fills with 200psi in less than 40 seconds.
A performance grade air suspension kit is the Road Runner of the auto world: pretty much unbeatable. And since we live in the time of tech, many air compressors can be controlled by a wireless remote from inside the cab of your vehicle. This innovative system makes adjusting your air springs from inside (or outside) your cab simple-just push a button, and you're off. Plus, the wireless design means you won't have a nest of wires running through your cab.
Many air suspension systems feature advanced diagnostics to provide complete control of your air shocks. In addition, many systems provide a setting for user-defined memory, allowing you to quickly switch between your most frequently used settings.
One word of advice: don't be tempted by generic parts. When it comes to your suspension system, the best kits are those that have been personally-tailored to your unique make, model and year, providing all the components required for a quick and easy do-it-yourself installation. Nothing's worse than getting half-way through a suspension upgrade only to find out the kit you ordered is missing some key component, like the air compressor or the air lines.

Air suspension is a type of vehicle suspension powered by an engine driven or electric air pump or compressor. This pump pressurizes the air, using compressed air as a spring. Air suspension replaces conventional steel springs. If the engine is left off for an extended period, the car will settle to the ground. The purpose of air suspension is to provide a smooth ride quality and in some cases self leveling.
99 Navigator Driver side rear 'sag'?
I have a 99 Navigator and the driver side rear looks like it is leaning. I was told by a local mechanic that the air spring needed to be replaced. However, when doing research online i saw an overwhelming list of air suspension problems involving height sensors, compressors, relays. . .etc. Can anyone shed some light on a couple ways to better diagnose this problem?
jack the navi up and releave some pressure from the air bag. get a spray bottle with water and spray on bag. if it bubbles there is a leak in bag and can be replaced. it takes about two hours to replace one and they will last for quite a long time. the bags get warn like anything else on vehicle and sometimes just needs replaced and it will be like brand new. http://www.strutmasters.com. try this site. it will get you a price range for the bag. not to bad on wallet.
Holy Horology
Everything began by a ‘mass’ or ‘service’ on Tuesday April 10, the day before the opening of BaselWorld. At the end of the day, a small el-egant crowd gathered at the Elizabethan Kirche in Basel, squeezing together on the church benches under the high and colourful stained glass windows.
