Here are some more information for Specialty Wrench Transmission:
Welcome back to my series on automotive tools for the beginner. Today we will discuss some basic tips for using a torque wrench in case you are not familiar with how to best ensure that you are tightening your fastener properly. If you are going to need to use a torque wrench for whatever job you are working on you will want to be sure that you are using it properly. The torque specifications to which you are tightening to may be involved with determining bearing clearances, in which case the proper use of a torque wrench isn't only important, but required.
So here are the basic tips to know:
Tip 1: When grabbing the torque wrench, make sure you grab far down the shaft, not up by the dial. Grabbing low gives you more leverage and control over the wrench and fastener.
Tip 2: When you are looking at your project, tighten the nuts or bolts down in a sequence that will apply load or pressure evenly across the item. Do not use it in a pure clockwise of counter clockwise direction. Whatever is being tightened needs to move down evenly or your readings may be off significantly.
Tip 3: When working on a series of bolts or nuts, tighten them until they are snug, then go back over them for a final tightening and reading. This is once again to assure that you are placing even load on the surface you are working on. This is good general information, but becomes absolutely necessary when using a torque wrench on a surface that requires specific torque pressure.
Tip 4: When using your torque wrench make sure that the bolt or nut moves freely along the threads you are tightening against. I like to use an assembly lube specifically designed for this application. If the fastener has resistance in its movement along the threads your torque readings will take that resistance into account as metered torque and while the readings might otherwise indicate that the fastener is properly torque, it won't be.

Specialty Tools for Automobile Repair
As automobiles become more comfortable and user-friendly, they also get much more complex under the hood. Thus, automobile repair requires a set of specialized tools. This article touches upon three such types of tools unique to automobile repair, but invaluable to the mechanic.
Automotive scan tools plug into the on-board diagnostics (OBD) connector to access functions that give the repair technician information on the condition of the various sub-systems in the vehicle. Such automotive scan tools may be hand-held or PC-based.
Hand-held automotive scan tools are further divided into consumer and professional tools. The former include simple fault code readers and reset tools. Their professional counterparts access advanced diagnostics and control units, set ECU parameters specific to the manufacturer or vehicle and facilitate diagnosis or tuning by performing real-time monitoring and graphing of engine parameters.
PC-based automotive scan tools convert OBD-II signals into serial data compatible for display on standard personal computers. Most popular interfaces read all five generic OBD-II protocols and are based on the ELM[7] or STN1110[8] OBD Interpreter ICs. Understandably, PC-based automotive scan tools offer larger storage capacity, higher screen resolution and better flexibility than handheld ones.
Auto mechanics are highly dependent on such automotive scan tools to diagnose the specific error that causes a failure in a vehicle system. Once affordable only to the elite, today's automotive scan tools are relatively inexpensive and highly portable and easy to use.
Although much humbler than advanced OBD systems, ball joints are essential components of any vehicle. Their rotational capabilities make them native to steering systems. They also connect suspension systems to the wheel.
A ball joint press enables the mechanic to remove and install ball joints into the vehicle. Typically, they contain three receiver tubes. A ball joint set comes complete with press and adapters, including installation and removal adapters as well as installing and receiving cups.
Transmission systems are another important component of a vehicle. Manual or automatic, transmission systems are ubiquitous in both light, personal cars as well as in heavier trucks, buses and tractors.
To diagnose a problem in this system, the mechanic uses an array of transmission tools. First, to raise the vehicle and remove the system, he uses transmission tools such as jacks and hoists. After that, pliers, screwdrivers and ratchets come in handy. Wrenches are other important transmission tools used to adjust equipment like pumps, gears and bands.
After the system has been repaired, it is re-installed and filled with transmission fluid. A test drive completes the repair process.
Thus, automotive scan tools, ball joint presses and transmission tools are valuable components of any automobile repairman's toolkit.

What My Opponent Won't Tell You Is...
Even in an unexceptional year—which 2010 certainly is not—predicting the outcome of elections is foolish in the case of races that are close and dull in the case of races that are not. Instead, we offer a review of some of the season’s greatest political hit jobs: the ad campaigns that stand out as surprising or egregious, the self-inflicted wounds that will not heal, the desperate measures of ...
