Leatherman 68010101K Crunch Pocket Multi-Tool with Leather Sheath List Price: $102.50 Sale Price: $63.96 |
|
The Crunch folds down to just 4 inches, but it packs a full range of useful tools that are ready for work. Leatherman's Hardy Crunch Multitool Made for the most demanding professionals and do-it-yourselfers, Leatherman's Crunch multi-purpose tool features locking pliers that spread wide enough to clamp a 1-inch pipe, but it folds up into a tidy 4-inch, 6-ounce package for convenient storage in a pocket or bag. Remove the adjusting screw and you'll find a 1/4-inch hex-bit adapter built right in. The pliers lock into position like vise grips, leaving both hands free for other work, and all the interior blades lock too, for optimal safety and power. Key User Features To open the interior blades, all you have to do is partially open the handles and use the nail nick to rotate the selected blade out and into the ready position. Extend the blades fully to engage the locks, and to release a locked blade, simply push the lock release button located on the outside of the handle. The regular and hard-wire cutters are located in the plier jaws. The hard-wire cutter is the small notch at the base of the wire cutting area. The regular wire cutters are ideal for softer wire grades, and the hard-wire cutters are great for sturdier materials like fish hooks. The Crunch is made from 100-percent high-grade stainless steel, and it can be cleaned, dried, and re-oiled periodically -- which is recommended, especially after it's used in a damp environment. The Crunch can clamp pipe up to 1 inch in diameter. Leatherman makes a full range of complementary accessories and add-ons for this and other Leatherman products. Multitool Capabilities: Leatherman crunch Locking pliers Wire cutters Hard-wire cutters Serrated knife Metal/wood file Ruler (inch/metric) Bottle opener Small screwdriver Medium screwdriver Large screwdriver Phillips screwdriver (#1/#2) Hex bit driver Wire stripper Lanyard attachment Optional Accessories (not included) Replace that worn sheath you've had on your belt all these years. To obtain warranty service, return your tool to Leatherman Tool Group. Depending on the tool defect, they will decide whether to repair your tool or replace it with a product of equal or greater value. No variations, upgrades or refunds are offered. The Leatherman Tool Group and its History of Quality In 1975, Leatherman Tool Group founder Tim Leatherman was inspired by leaky pipes and a cranky car on a budget trip to Europe -- and thus the idea for his first pocket survival tool was conceived. Created with bold designs and truly rugged construction, Leatherman products are a perfect addition for tool kits, emergency sets, and glove compartments everywhere. |

Here are some more information for Grip Locking Pliers:

Everyone always has their own ideas about what should be contained in a home tool box. Most people agree that hammers and nails are essential, as are an assortment of screwdrivers. But what about pliers? Actually, pliers are one of the most versatile tools that anyone can keep in their tool box and are an essential instrument for most home repair jobs. Every tool box should contain several different kinds in order to cover a wide range of tasks: locking, needle nose, and wire cutting pliers are a great place to start. Here are some reasons why pliers should be in every home tool box.
-- Toy and furniture assembly. If you have children in your house, you know there are going to be bicycles that need to be put together as well as any number of other kinds of toys. Pliers are essential for turning nuts and bolts and squeezing things together. It's rare that furniture comes fully assembled nowadays: having pliers handy makes it simple to put together a chair or connect the legs to that new sofa.
-- Craft projects. If you work with wood, or if one of your children is into building models, you know that wood glue takes a few minutes to dry. Use pliers to gently keep the wood pieces together until they are completely adhered. Needle nose pliers and wire cutters are essential for jewelry making and other projects that require a delicate touch.
-- Broken bolts and screws. Nothing is more frustrating than having hardware fail: and it's usually at the most inopportune times. Needle nose pliers can extract a broken bolt or screw from a tight place, while locking pliers can give you the torque you need to pull out hardware that is easy to reach.
-- Broken light bulbs. If you've ever had a light bulb break when you were unscrewing it, you know that trying to remove what's left with your fingers is a risky proposition indeed. Pliers can do the unscrewing for you and will save your fingers from getting cut.
-- Opening stuck lids. Sometimes even banging the container's lid against the kitchen counter will not be enough to loosen its grip on the bottle or jar. Pliers can easily be used to open stuck lids because they do not slip or slide like our hands do.
Choosing which pliers are essential to your home tool box is as easy as asking for help at your local home improvement store or by checking online. If you are a serious handyman who likes to keep one hand free while manipulating pliers with the other, self-adjusting locking jaw pliers may be a useful addition to your collection.

The right way to install a lock on roller garage doors
How one can install a lock on roller garage doors
Often when people change their roller garage doors it's because the lock has busted, but this needn't be the case. Changing a lock on roller garage doors is rather simple and may be accomplished simply be adhering to these few quick steps.
1.Roller garage doors have to be closed before beginning any work on them. Use vice grips on the garage door tracks to ensure it remains closed for the entire duration.
All roller garage doors have a pin which acts to secure the lock handle to the lock shaft. In order to do this you need to place a nail over the pin and give it a tiny tap. That should reveal a piece of the pin, permitting you to remove it fully with a set of pliers.
2.You can now pull the inside handle off the shaft and as such pull the lock bars off the shaft also. On roller garage doors, the lock bars are 2 straight pieces going from the lock to each side of the door.
Both the lock bars are joined on a plate which then mounts above the lock shaft.
3.Over the shaft is a deadbolt lock, where you'll see four screws. Unscrew these to disconnect the deadbolt.
Next, in order to take away the lock assembly from the door unscrew the two screws that'll be securing it. Then move to the exterior of the roller garage door and grab the lock.
4.Replacing locks in roller garage doors will need you to go ahead and take existing lock into ahome improvement store and choose a matching lock that has the same length in between the 2 mounting holes that will be in your garage door.
For the following step inchanging the locks in roller garage doors you'll need the help of your friend. Tell them to slide the brand new lock through the door and hold itin position. Using the two screws that areleft over, fasten the brand new lock from in the garage.
5.The new deadbolt lock now must be installed on the roller garage door. The external door handle includes a thin bar which extends through the roller garage door and must be repositioned back into the deadbolt.
Roller garage doors require you to place the lock bar back through the guides on each side of the door. On roller garage doors, these guidesin addition act as brackets for the lock bars to lie in once the door is unlocked. Finally put the lock bar plate on the lock shaft.
6.The last step when swapping the locks on roller garage doors would be to place the brand new interior lock handle back onto the shaft and lining up the hole for that pin to fall back in place. Once again tap the pin employing a nail to fix it into place so that the pin is lined up with the handle.

Getting the padlock off my case!?
I'ver lost the keys for my suitcase padlocks. The suitcases are open and I'm able to fill them but need to get the old ones off to put the new ones on. I know I could use pliers or the like but they are locked in my husbands tool cabinet. I've tried wriggling a hair grip in but can't do it. Any ideas?
instead of taking padlocks off take the zips off and replace them, you can buy replacement zips from a craft shop

Finally the Austrian school of economics, sometimes referred to as the Austrian Business Cycle Theory (SBCT), is getting some respect, as we learn from DailyBell.com, which quoted an editorial from Ron Smith at The Baltimore Sun saying "The few economists that warned that the credit explosion of recent years would hasten and deepen financial disaster were mainly from the so-called Austrian ...
