Kids love to ride their own bicycles and enjoy the air that passes them when they ride their kiddie bike. Parents would be proud to see their kid happy and learning how to use a bike to go faster. Kiddie bikes make kids more energetic and more playful when they ride one. Kids would be able to benefit from it since riding their kiddie bikes would be able to increase their stamina and maintain a healthy life. Parents should put in mind that if there are enjoyments for a kid when riding one, there are also times that the kid could end up falling down the bike he or she rides. In order to prevent the disaster that might happen to your child, you should buy a kiddie bicycle helmet to protect your child's head. Here are some tips in buying a bicycle helmet for your kid.

The head is the most important part of the body. There are chances that when a kid rides his kiddie bike, he or she would fall down and hit his or her head. You should take caution and buy the needed safety equipment for your kid. Since the head is the most important part of the body, you should buy the helmet first before other safety equipment.

When you are choosing a bicycle helmet for your kid, you should buy a helmet that is the correct size that would fit the head of your kid. When you buy the helmet make sure that the helmet protects his head. Also, you should ensure that the helmet that you have bought complies with the standard set by the authority of the place where you're bought it. This is to make sure that the helmet functions properly. When an accident happens, the helmet will protect the kids head.

There are many helmets to choose from. So choose the helmet that is specifically designed for bicycle riding. Don't choose other helmets because they have been made for other specific sports. So, no matter what the cost, choose a kiddie bicycle helmet for kiddie bicycles and other helmets for other specific sports to prevent accidents. Wrong helmets may result in an injury or the helmet will not be enough to protect the kids head.

There are two types of bicycle helmets, the soft shell and the hard shell. The soft shell absorbs the shock and has an impact resistance when your kid accidentally falls from his or her kiddie bike. The problem about soft shell is that it can't protect the kid from sharp objects. The hard shell protects the kids head by repelling sharp objects when the kid falls and hits a sharp object on the head but the problem about the hard shell is that it is heavy and uncomfortable to a kid.

When you buy a helmet for your kid, make sure that you don't forget to list down a helmet that can be adjusted according to the head of the kid. It is best to choose an adjustable helmet because these helmets can still fit the kid when the kid slightly grows up. You will be able to adjust the helmet to the right head size of your kid.

With the right helmet for your kid, you will be able to sit down and relax knowing that your kid is safe. It doesn't hurt to keep your kids safe, so let them wear the bicycle helmet.

The Advancement In Protection That Airbags Provide

It really is hard to believe but there was a time not too many decades back when seat belts of any type weren't even mandatory in vehicles in the US Great Britain and Canada. In fact it was consumer activist turned “occasional presidential candidate” Ralph Nader who was the voice that took on the big three American automobile companies and successful lobbied congress to make them mandatory.

No Mandatory Seat Belts Until the Early 1960's

The truth be told however, is that on their own seat belts in a high speed crash can themselves be dangerous. You see seatbelts are only designed to “restrain” the occupants, not to shield or pad them in a crash. So it was about two decades back that airbags were first installed in vehicles and they have been going through advancements ever since.

The Very First Air Bags - Greeted By a Skeptical Public

The very first advancement to airbags very first airbags was in fact information. You see believe it or not, in the beginning people had to actually be convinced that the airbags were safe. Rumors abounded after the first crash reports started to come in that included burns and even broken noses and ribs inflicted by the deploying air bags.

Todays More “Cooler” Deploying Airbags

You see the air bags themselves are inflated on impact by a sudden chemical reaction. (A small explosion). It takes some .30 milliseconds (a finger snap) for the sodium azide contained in the bag to be converted to a gas. Most all chemical reactions that happens that quickly are going to have an exothermic by product (exothermic = gives off heat) but today’s improved air bags now contain another chemical to neutralize the heat.

The Passenger Side Safety Switch For Children & the Elderly

Another advancement is today’s automotive airbags is a simple on & off switch for the passenger side. This is meant for small children and the elderly. There is just no getting around the fact that an bag inflating at that speed, (a finger snap) will bring with it a certain measure of force. For children and the elderly this amount of force can break ribs and inflict serious facial injuries even in a low mph crash.

Safer In Town & Safer Out On the Freeway

So for driving about town, parents and passengers now have the option of flipping a switch on the dash that deactivates the passenger side air bag. However; out on the freeways & highways, in the balance, it's still statistically a heck of a lot safer to flick the switch back on, due to the probability of any impact, if there were to be one, would be a high mph crash.

Today’s Safer Compact Fuel Efficient Vehicles

Yet one more recent advancement in automotive airbag technology, is the ability to place them on more areas of vehicles then just the front dashboard. Side panel airbags “both upper and lower”, “front and back” now come along just when they are needed most. This is because these strategically located air bags now make today’s “in demand”, smaller, more fuel efficient cars so much safer to drive than in years past.

SKATEBOARDING Ollie Help!!!?

Right, I've been skateboarding for about a month and I'm pretty stable on my board. I've recently been trying to learn the ollie but I cant seem to do it. I understand how to do it:
-First you pop the tail as hard as you can on to the ground
-When you pop you slide/roll your foot up the grip tape to level your board out - you also bring up your back foot so that the board goes as high as it can (jumping at the same time)
-when it levels out in the air bring both feet down at the same time
HOWEVER - HERE'S MY PROBLEM
when I slide my foot up the griptape the board flips into a semi kickflip and travels about 2 feet away from me!! Whats going wrong???
I've got a crappy Mcgill skateboard which is quite heavy - but I'm getting an almost mullen impact support board in a few weeks - will this help? Or is it just me and the way I slide my foot up the griptape?
I'm goofy footed - is that a problem

Make sure your not kicking to the side or kicking to far forward or too hard. Slide with the side of your foot and then straighten it our as you get to where the trucks are held on and push down a little while you bring your back up. that will level it out a bit more. Also make sure you even your weight over the center of the board.

Oil threatens key Gulf algae and its ecosystem
It looks dirty and muddy, a brown mass of weeds with gas-filled berries that allow it to float on the Gulf of Mexico's waters. Sometimes it washes ashore, getting caught in the toes of barefoot beachgoers or stuck to the bottom of flip-flops.
