I need a decent power drill. Any recommendations?

And I want a drill bit set of quality drill bits that won't scuff and disintergrate in a couple of weeks.
I'm just a regular guy with regular DIY duties around the house. Need to drill into wood, walls etc Also want to be able to use it as a screwdriver.

Are you looking for a corded or cordless drill? You can get a decent semi-pro quality Ryobi from Home Depot. As a homeowner, you wouldn't need more than 14.4V, and most likely 12V would be plenty. Look for 1/2" chuck though. A step up from this would be a Makita, or a Bosch. These are more professional quality, and that is reflected in the price tag. Irwin makes a nice set of drill bits, and they won't break your budget. However, You should make sure and pick up some extra bits of the most common sizes-1/4". 3/16", and 1/8". Good luck.
