Here are some more information for Disconnect Set Nib:
Since calligraphy, like other skills including painting and music, requires a certain amount of training and practice it definitely requires a good calligraphy set to improve and master this art. Calligraphy is derived from the Greek words 'kallos' and 'graphe' which together mean calligraphy or 'beauty writing'. Calligraphy is used when writing invitations for special occasions, creating exclusive designs on maps, for logo designing, for writing memorials and any other special use. Calligraphy is not a new art, originating around 600 B.C. from the Greek alphabet.
Beginners to calligraphy are in for some luck since a calligraphy set for beginners is very cheap, costing only around $20. It is ideal for those who wish to learn Western calligraphy and consists of a pen holder, an ink bottle and a few nibs of varying sizes. If you are at an advanced level you may only require a single pen holder with a dozen or more sizes of nibs so you can change nibs according to your lettering. It is better to change nibs than pens because getting used to a particular pen holder is beneficial to the user, who thus gains much influence in the art of calligraphy.
When choosing nibs for a calligraphy set one should consider the different strokes and styles that are required for calligraphy lettering. If you want to make delicate strokes the nib should be sharper and smaller. Medium nibs can be used for common strokes and larger ones are meant for bold strokes. If you want to work on posters then over sized nibs are required. However most calligraphy for invitations and announcements use thin and sleek strokes, and require sharper and smaller nibs while flyers and posters may require the medium to over-sized nibs.
If you are preparing to work with an East Asian calligraphy set you will get brushes and not pens. These brushes will have different types of hair at the tip meant for creating thin to thick strokes in calligraphy writing. Along with this the set would provide you with an ink cistern, ink stone and ink stick to prepare your own ink as and when required.
Though it is not evident whether East Asian calligraphy had been in existence earlier, records indicate that it may have been in use earlier than the 1st century, though there are no parchments available to prove this statement. Archeological records prove that the first parchments used Greek words to describe calligraphy.
A good calligraphy set will give you immense satisfaction as you see your beautiful creations come to life before your eyes. Calligraphy should be practiced daily with sincerity and much dedication like music, dance or any other art like painting etc. This is the only way to get the best results out of calligraphy lettering.
If you are a left hander it could be a bit difficult to find a proper calligraphy set. But this should not be the reason for you to avoid practicing calligraphy. There are a number of instruction books on calligraphy that teach you how to practice calligraphy using the left hand.
